Kevin Harley Stepping Down As Corbett Spokesman

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Gov. Tom Corbett’s longtime spokesman, Kevin Harley, is taking a new job outside of state government.
The administration announced Monday that Harley will become managing director of Quantum Communications. The Harrisburg public relations firm is headed by Charlie Gerow, an attorney and Republican activist.
Harley’s departure comes as Corbett faces sagging popularity ratings and after he failed to rally support among fellow Republicans in the Legislature for any of his top legislative priorities this summer.
Harley’s been Corbett’s spokesman since he was attorney general and during his 2010 election campaign. Harley has run the gubernatorial press office since Corbett took office in January 2011.
