PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A minor makeover to a popular health book can help you make a major personal makeover.

James Duigan’s ‘Clean and Lean Diet’ is already the stuff of legend, if for nothing more than Victoria’s Secret models like it. Now out in a revised and updated version, ‘Clean and Lean Diet’ aims to help you detoxify your body, for example by eliminating hormones, pesticides and antibiotics from your food.

Step two is honing your body.

“It’s a way of living your life that really insures that you not only look better, but feel better,” Duigan says. “A lot of people don’t know they’re sick because they’ve never been healthy. They think it’s normal to wake up feeling exhausted or to be bloated or uncomfortable or moody throughout the day. And it’s not normal. It’s just common.”

The book has dozens of recipes focusing on fresh natural food.

Organic is best, Duigan says, if you can afford it, and the dishes will excite your taste buds.

“We didn’t want to have a steamed chicken breast in a bowl of dust,” he says, “because there’s nothing happy about that.”
