Philadelphia Area Muslims Celebrate End Of Ramadan

BENSALEM, Pa., (CBS) - Muslims around the world held celebrations Friday to mark the end of Ramadan, including a mosque in Bensalem.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Philadelphia chapter is 400 members strong.

They were among Muslims around the world celebrating Eid. There was prayer and a feast to mark the end of their month long fast of Ramadan.

"In essence fasting gives you a sense of relocation, or reassessment of your own life that what we spoke about today, trying to obtain God, nearness to God right. Trying to be better human beings better people in general, righteous people, honest, truthful," said  Imam Mahmood Kauser.

Philadelphia Area Muslims Celebrate End Of Ramadan

Members of the mosque which was established in 1920 do charitable work year round in Philadelphia including feeding the homeless at two city shelters.
