State Flags Ordered To Half-staff In Honor Of Monroe County Shooting Victims
HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) – Gov. Corbett has ordered flags at half-staff for three days in honor of the shooting victims in Monroe County.
Pennsylvania state flags at the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Monroe County will be lowered to half-staff beginning Sunday, Aug. 11th. They'll remain there for three days.
Three men were killed and several people were injured when a gunman stormed into a township meeting on Monday evening in Saylorsburg.
"The incident in Monroe County strikes at the heart of America's tradition of hometown democracy,'' Corbett said. "Pennsylvania has lost three good citizens who were at a township meeting to exercise their constitutional right to self-government.
United States flags will remain at full staff.
