Riley Cooper Returns To Eagles Practice

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Eagles have announced that wide receiver Riley Cooper will return to the team and is scheduled to practice today.

Cooper had been away from the team to receive counseling after being fined for using racial slurs in a video that surfaced last week.

The Eagles released their first depth chart yesterday, and Cooper was listed as the second string wide receiver. The Eagles will practice with the New England Patriots today, and will face New England in their first pre-season game on Friday.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie released the following statement:

"I want to make this clear; the words Riley Cooper used were totally unacceptable. His words may have been directed at one person but they hurt everyone. Riley has apologized to the team and community and has made a personal commitment to work hard to try and gain their trust and earn his position on the team."
