Phillies Call Up Jimenez To Replace Bastardo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies have selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Cesar Jimenez from AAA Lehigh Valley to replace the suspended Antonio Bastardo.
Bastardo accepted a 50-game suspension on Monday for violating MLB's drug policy.
Jimenez is 4-2 with a 3.12 ERA in 36 games for the IronPigs, striking out 64 batters in 66.1 innings.
Jimenez will wear #56.
