South Jersey Man Faces Charges In Fatal Brawl
WILLIAMSTOWN, N.J. (AP) — Aggravated assault charges have been filed against a southern New Jersey man accused of fatally beating an acquaintance.
Gloucester County prosecutors filed the charge against 50-year-old Thomas Johnson of Williamstown following the death of Mario Cincerella. They say the 42-year-old Williamstown resident was injured in a July 29 brawl with Johnson at the Williamstown American Legion Hall.
Both men were members of the legion hall's billiards club. Authorities say they had argued there, apparently over an outstanding debt.
Johnson allegedly punched and kicked Cincerella, causing head injuries. A friend later found Cincerella unconscious and called police.
Cincerella was taken to a hospital and put on life support, but he was pronounced dead on Thursday. A cause of death has not been determined.
