Daylong Reggae Fest Returns For Second Year at the Mann Center

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The second Annual "Reggae in the Park" festival takes place this Sunday at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, in Fairmount Park.

More than 25 bands will perform on two stages.  Among the headliners is "Mr. Boombastic" himself, Shaggy, singing "Fight This Feeling" from his new album, "Out of Many, One Music," being released next month.

"I amazed at this day when people still run up to you and say 'Mr. Boombastic!' and amazed at this day that...  I say, 'How can I be in this (business) for 20 years and I'm still relevant and I'm still headlining the shows?' "

Shaggy says reggae music is very popular nowadays and the Philadelphia audience is in for a treat on Sunday with an amazing lineup.

Among the acts performing this year are Beres Hammond, Taurus Riley, Maxi Priest, Yellowman, and Rocky & The Pressers.

"Reggae in the Park" tickets range from $30 to $85.  More information at MannCenter.org.
