PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Chad Durkin is a celebrity chef and his fans can now find him at Kermit's Bake Shoppe in South Phiadelphia:
"I was once on Next Great Baker. I've also been on Food Network Challenge," he said
Durkin says the new bakery is offering sweet and savory foods:
"You can come in, be like, 'oh I'm kinda hungry', grab a slice, and you can grab dessert for when you go home later tonight. You can romance! I'm like the best date night ever! You just come and be like, 'oh I kinda screwed up, I forgot my anniversary, let me go to Kermit's real fast and grab me like a cake and a tart and I'm gonna look like a hero'!"

Also in South Philly, Paola Chiavatti of Mamma Maria's says the 8th annual Car Show and Street Festival takes place on East Passyunk Avenue near her restaurant this Sunday:
"I mean, we had 7,000 people last year. When you have that many people, it's like somebody comes over to your house. What do you do? You want to make sure you have something."

And A. Bar at 18th and Walnut is now open.
General Manager Todd Rogers says the former Kiel's store was turned into the sister establishment to nearby A. Kitchen:
"It's definitely more casual here, more of a bar atmosphere, but with a raw bar focus on some fantastic oysters, real strong cocktail program."
