By Dan Wing

CHESTER, Pa., (CBS) - Authorities in Chester are left investigating after a violent weekend in which five people were shot in separate incidents that took place in the span of less than an hour.

The violence began just before midnight Saturday when police were called to the Benjamin Banneker Apartment building on West 7th Street for reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found 20-year-old Jasmarr Anderson dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

Less than 10 minutes later, 25-year-old Everett Wilson walked in Chester-Crozer Medical Center with gunshot wounds to his head and left shoulder. He said he was on East 3rd Street when he was shot.

Less than a half hour after midnight, 20-year-old Khalif Adams was found in the area of 7th and Lloyd Streets with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was listed in stable condition and released from the hospital.

Chester Police got another call of shots fired less than five minutes later at 12:28 a.m., as 24-year-old Timothy Thompson was shot in the left arm while leaving the Madison Grill at 12th and Madison Streets.

Just one minute later, shots were fired on East 13th Street where 21-year-old Jeffrey Daniels was struck in the right calf as he crossed the Crosby Street foot bridge. Daniels says the shooter was dressed in black and that he left in a waiting car.

Chester Police and Chester County Detectives are helping in the investigation, but they ask anyone with information to call either department.
