PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who punched a man after the victim refused to let him use his cell phone.

The incident happened at about 5:50 a.m. on July 18th outside the Wawa located on Aramingo Avenue in the city’s Fishtown section.

Investigators say the 26-year-old victim was standing outside the Wawa when he was approached by the suspect. Police say the suspect asked to use the victim’s cell phone, but he refused to do so.

Investigators say that is when the suspect punched the victim, causing him to fall to the ground. The victim suffered a large cut to his head that required several staples.

The suspect then fled the area by entering the passenger side of a white four-door vehicle with tinted windows and a sunroof that was driven by a white female.

The suspect is described as a white male, with a light complexion, short blond hair, between 30-39 years-of-age, 6’2”-6’5”, 250-300 lbs. He was wearing a gray shirt and blue pants and had tattoos on both arms.

The vehicle the suspect fled in is described as a Pontiac or Buick with a Florida license plate of 0005-WML.
