Locals React To News Of Royal Baby's Birth

By Michelle Durham

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)  -- The Duchess of Cambridge has safely delivered the next heir to the British Throne, and locals are giving their local opinion about the newest Prince.

Sherisse's son two and a half-year old  Jordon was seven and a half pounds at birth.

"Oh I am very happy for them," she says, "and if she didn't I hope the labor went very easy for her."

The royal baby weighed in at eight pounds six ounces.

Sherisse said, "she had a much bigger baby then I did, and she was so tiny. I can't believe she had an eight pound baby!"

Sherisse's husband Antwoinne had this observation

"I'm sure he's proud of his son. I'm sure he is, as I am proud of mine!"

Joan had an enthusiastic response.

"I was hoping it would be a girl. Only because it would set a precedent now that the law was passed allowing girls to have succession. But I'm thrilled the baby is here and healthy and that is wonderful!"
