TULLYTOWN  PA (CBS)  —  A Bucks County woman is facing two misdemeanor charges after authorities found her newborn baby inside a trash bag hidden in a closet in her home last week.

Prosecutors say 38-year-old Lorie Bendorovich is charged with concealing the death of an infant and abuse of a corpse.

They say one of her other children found the infant which had been in the closet for four days after she delivered the child in her Tullytown home last Sunday night.

At this point, District Attorney David Heckler says they are not filing homicide charges.

Heckler said, “the post mortem examination indicated at least preliminarily that the child was indeed stillborn.”

He says there may be more testing and the investigation continues to try to determine whether the baby had taken any breaths after it was born.

He says Bendorovich initially told police she didn’t know she was pregnant but then admitted she delivered the child.

There are no indications as to what she planned to do with the baby.
