5 Hospitalized After 2 Shootings In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say five people were hospitalized after two separate shootings in Philadelphia Monday night.

The first incident happened at about 5:38 p.m. at the 2500 block of North Palethorp Street in North Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Police say a 25-year-old man was shot twice in the right side.  He was rushed to Temple University Hospital by police.  He is listed in serious condition.

A 37-year-old male was shot once in the pelvic area.  He was taken to Temple University Episcopal Hospital by a private vehicle.  He is in critical condition.

No arrests have been made at this time.

There is no word on a suspect or motive in this shooting.

About 20 minutes later, authorities say three people were shot at about 6 p.m. at the 6400 block of North Norwood Street in West Oak Lane.

Police say an 18-year-old woman was shot once in the left thigh.  She was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center by a private vehicle.

According to authorities, a 20-year-old man was shot once in the right ankle.  Police say the third victim, an 18-year-old man, was shot once in the left ankle.  Both male victims were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center by medics.

All three victims are hospitalized in stable condition.

No arrests have been made at this time.

There is no word on a suspect or motive.

Both shootings are currently under investigation.
