UPDATE: Man Drowns In Gloucester County Pool

MONROE TWP., N.J. (CBS) –  Authorities say a 45-year-old Monroe Township man who was physically impaired from cerebral palsy drowned in his family's in-ground swimming pool Thursday night.

Chopper 3 HD was over the scene at about 5:40 p.m. along the 1000 block of Spruce Avenue in the Victory Lakes section of Monroe Township.

According to investigators, family members said he was exercising a weakened leg. Investigators say the man was pulled from the bottom of the nine-foot deep end of the pool by relatives who applied CPR in an attempt to revive him.

The victim was rushed to Kennedy Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation by the Monroe Township Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office concluded it was an accidental drowning.
