9 Hospitalized After AC Expressway Accident

WINSLOW Twp., N.J., (CBS) – Authorities say several people were injured in an accident on the Atlantic City Expressway in Camden County Wednesday night.

The one-vehicle crash happened at about 7:38 p.m. on the Atlantic City Expressway in the westbound lane near mile marker 39 in Winslow Township.

Chopper 3 HD was over the scene as multiple rescue units responded to the crash.

According to New Jersey State Police, a white Pontiac minivan rolled over.  Police say seven people were ejected, mostly children.

Authorities say three medevac helicopters were called in to assist in transporting the victims to the hospital.

The victims' conditions are unknown at this time.

No fatalities have been reported.

All westbound lanes were closed for about three hours due to the crash.

All westbound lanes - with the exception of the right lane - were reopened at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
