Trenton Man Dies After Being Shot In Street
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Trenton police say a city resident has died after being shot on a street in New Jersey's capital city.
Mercer County prosecutors say 21-year-old Thomas Barnes was shot in the chest late Saturday in the area of Stuyvesant and Exton Avenues. Barnes then ran to his nearby home but soon collapsed in front of the residence.
Police responded to the scene around 9:40 p.m. and Barnes was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Barnes' death marks the city's 20th homicide in 2013.
Further details on the shooting, including how many assailants may have been involved and what type of weapon was used, were not disclosed.
No arrests have been made.
