2 Philadelphians Named To List Of Most Inspiring Sustainable Chefs
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Two local chefs have been named among the most inspiring sustainable chefs by a food think tank.
Food Tank -- which works to solve issues surrounding food such as obesity, hunger and poverty – put both Chef Jose Garces and Chef Marc Vetri to the list, which also includes chefs from areas like New York, Chicago and California.
Chef Vetri was cited for his children's education foundation, the Vetri Foundation for Children, as well as for his work to reform school lunches.
Chef Garces, of Iron Chef fame, was likewise touted for his work to educate children about healthy eating using his 40-acre sustainable and organic farm, Luna Farms.
Both chefs own and operate a number of restaurants in the Philadelphia area.
