She says during that time, there are free outdoor movies, storytelling events, and food festivals scheduled. Of course, the big event takes place on the 4th of July on the Ben Franklin Parkway.

"Party on the Parkway starts at 12 p.m., Benjamin Franklin Parkway and that's 20th and Eakins Oval," says Peterkin-Bell. "We really know how to throw a party! America's birthday continues with blocks and blocks of exciting activities, multiple musical stages, games and all-American food, and then the Philly 4th of July Jammin' Fireworks Spectacular starts at 7 p.m."

And the fireworks take place right after the acts, around 11 p.m.
