Party For Center City Philadelphia's Homeless Men

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --Homeless men living in Philadelphia got a special meal today, thanks to a nonprofit group from Bucks County whose mission is throwing parties for the disadvantaged.

St. John's Hospice, at 12th and Race Streets in center city, was the site of the annual party serving several hundred homeless men.

Leeann Camut, founder of the Be The Light Of The Party Foundation, says her organization wanted to do something a little different at this year's party for the homeless.

"We usually do a pizza party, but this year Joe from P&P Caterers graciously offered to donate some chicken and pasta."

Camut says volunteers from all over came out, including Bucks County children ranging from 3rd through 6th grades.

"The children are the waitstaff.  They are pouring the drinks, they are setting up the tables, they are giving the men, as they come in, the plates and the cups and the silverware.  They're behind the counter serving the cookies."

In addition, Camut says, they provided music and Godiva chocolates this year to the approximately 350 center city homeless men who attended.
