Officer Injured In Crash Involving Police Cruiser In North Philadelphia


PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia police officer was injured after his cruiser was involved in crash Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly after noon in the 1600 block of West Allegheny Street in North Philadelphia.

Chopper 3 HD was over the scene where it appeared a Philadelphia police cruiser and another car were involved in the crash. A second car appeared to have crashed into a utility pole.

Officials report that one police officer was taken to Temple University Hospital with a broken nose and possible concussion. He was listed in stable condition.

There are no reports of any civilian injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
