PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Montgomery County gym is staging an event next Saturday that will benefit participants and their pets.

The five mile hike and run through Pennypack Park in Philadelphia will raise money for the ASPCA.

Karl Safran, owner of No Bull Training in Huntingdon Valley, says helping others get fit and healthy is business, but helping worthy causes financially is a duty.

“Me, coming up the way I did, opening my own business, I had a few key people to help me when I was down on my luck. I feel like if I have the opportunity to give back I should,” Safran explained.

The event begins at 10 a.m. at the Pine Road entrance of the park. Registration is $20 a person and all proceeds will go to the ASPCA.

And don’t forget Fido! He loves a good walk.
