Sixers A Longshot, Heat The Favorite For Next Year's Title
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Heat just won their second consecutive NBA title, while the Sixers didn't make the playoffs. The people who come up with the odds expect next season to bring a similar result.
The Miami Heat are the favorite to win the 2013-14 NBA Title at 2/1, while the Sixers sit at 100/1, according to Bovada.
The Sixers hired a new general manager in Sam Hinkie, and are still in the process of hiring a new coach. The Heat are expected to bring their core back, as the odds of Wade, Bosh and James all returning for the 13-14 season are 1/3 that they will, and 2/1 that they will not.
While the heat are the favorites to win next year's title, the Oklahoma City Thunder follow at 11/2, the Chicago Bulls, who are expected to return with Derrick Rose are 15/2, the Spurs are 17/2, and the Indiana Pacers are 16/1.
