Philadelphia Businesses Get In On 'Take Your Dog to Work Day'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- This is the day for working stiffs to work next to their dogs.
Today, on National Take Your Dog to Work Day, Sharnette Mitchell -- an assistant manager at Hyperion Bank in Fishtown -- was working alongside her best buddy.
"His name is Louie. He's a Pekingese," she said.
Louie was lying next to his bowl of food, not far from about a half-dozen other dogs.
Bank owner Joe Matisoff says he does this every year.
"We opened the bank six years ago and later discovered by accident that the country was about to celebrate the ninth annual National Take Your Dog to Work Day, and we just jumped into it," he tells KYW Newsradio.
A study by the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association found that one in five companies in the US allows pets in the workplace -- not just on Take Your Dog To Work Day, but any day.
