Phillies, Halladay Family Foundation Launch 2013 Phans Feeding Families Program

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies, along with Citizen's Bank and the Halladay Family Foundation announced the 2013 Phans Feeding Families program on Wednesday.

Citizen's Bank executives presented a check for $40,000 to Philabundance, a hunger relief organization in Philadelphia. 2013 is the third year of the annual program.

"The support Philabundance gets from the community, the Phillies and Citizens Bank through Phans Feeding Families is so critical because Philabundance serves more families with children during the summer months," said Bill Clark, president and executive director of Philabundance in a press release. "For the 325,000 children who rely on free and reduced meals at a school in the Delaware Valley, hunger doesn't take a vacation and Philabundance needs community support to supplement the meals missed in the summer."

There are several ways for fans to support the program, including buying a limited edition pin from Philabundance, purchasing a "Party With A Purpose" package, bringing a donation of non-perishable food to Citizen's Bank Park or SEPTA's AT&T station during food drives on July 13th, August 8th, or August 17th, or bidding on VIP packages in a silent auction on August 17th.
