New Jersey, Delaware Among States With Fewest Engaged Employees

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – According to a Gallup poll, New Jersey and Delaware are among the top nine states with the least engaged employees.

According to Gallup, 51.7 percent of workers in New Jersey and 54.4 percent of workers in Delaware are not engaged with their workplaces.

Gallup's State of the American Workplace report, released last week, found that New Jersey ranked at 43 and Delaware ranked at 49 for states with the most engaged employees.

Results also showed that New Jersey and Pennsylvania were among the top 10 states with the most actively disengaged employees – both at 20 percent.

Gallup defines engaged employees as those who are enthusiastic about their work, not engaged employees are satisfied but emotionally disconnected and actively disengaged employees are disconnected and jeopardize team performance.

Louisiana topped the list for most engaged workers.
