Paralyzed Man Stabbed Multiple Times In Southwest Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say a paralyzed man was stabbed multiple times during an argument Monday night.

The incident happened at about 7:12 p.m. inside the Inglis Apartments at Elmwood, located at the 6200 block of Eastwick Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia police, a man who was visiting allegedly got into a fight with the 43-year-old victim over a female resident, who is also a paraplegic.

Detectives say the victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest and his genitals severed.

The victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently in a coma and listed in critical condition.

Police say the suspect was arrested at the scene.

Authorities are investigating.
