PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – An official date has been announced for Philly’s impromptu dinner soiree, Diner en Blanc.
The pop-up event will take place on Thursday, Aug. 22nd, though the location of the gathering won’t be revealed until the day of.
But getting an invitation to the al fresco dinner party isn’t easy. They’ll first be extended only to those who attended last year, and anyone else who is interested has to join the online waiting list, which will be opened to the public on an exclusive, first-come-first-served basis in mid-July.
Diner en Blanc originated in Paris in 1988, and its popularity quickly grew. In 2012, Philadelphia hosted its first installation of the event, which drew more than 1,000 participants dressed in white to the Swann Fountain in Logan Circle.
