Residents Displaced After Partial Wall Collapse On South Street

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Eight residents were displaced after a partial wall collapse near South Street Monday night.

The Philadelphia Fire Department responded to the incident at about 7:40 p.m. at the 600 block of S. 8th Street in Bella Vista.

Fire officials say four building were evacuated and eight residents were displaced.

The American Red Cross is helping the residents.

There were no injuries reported.

L&I and the Fire Marshall's Office will investigate the incident.

SEPTA has re-routed the 47 Route and the sidewalk is closed to pedestrian traffic.

There is no word on what caused the wall collapse.
