Handcuffed Man Steals Police Cruiser In Pennsylvania

NANTY GLO, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he stole a state police cruiser and led officers on a chase — after he had been handcuffed and arrested for drug offenses.

State police say they arrested 26-year-old Anthony Fox on Saturday night in Nanty Glo, but say he somehow got free from being seat-belted into the back of a police cruiser and got his cuffed hands in front of him and drove away.

Police say they gave chase and caught up to the Smicksburg man after he crashed the car in front of an apartment building in nearby Jackson Township.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Fox, who remained in the Cambria County Prison Monday on charges including escape, theft, driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
