Montgomery County Husband Charged In Stabbing Death Of Wife

HATFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- A Montgomery County man has been arrested on charges he stabbed his wife to death during a domestic dispute.

36-year-old Walid Mitwalli of Hatfield Township is charged with First Degree Murder and related offenses after allegedly stabbing his wife, Mona, multiple times with a 14-inch carving knife.

Police say they were called to the a home along the 2900 block of Denbeigh Drive shortly after 3 a.m. Friday when Mitwalli reported that his wife came at him with a knife, he grabbed the knife from her, stabbed her with it and that she was dead.

Authorities say the Mitwallis appeared to be having marital difficulties and that Mitwalli filed for a divorce from his wife in early April.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 17.
