Fine Art For Budget-Friendly Prices At 'Art For The Cash Poor' This Weekend

By Lynne Adkins

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you like art but hate high prices, an event in Kensington this weekend has the pieces and the prices.

Art for the Cash Poor features hundreds of original works by local artists and all of the pieces cost $200 or less. Rachel Zimmerman, executive director of InLiquid, the group sponsoring the event, says you'll be buying from the artists.

"You have that personal connection, you go to a fun event, you meet the person who makes the work, the work becomes that much more meaningful. Also, you create a relationship."

She says there will be something for every taste: "Anything from paintings to prints to ceramics to jewelry. There will be some wearables, but it's mostly fine art."

The event takes place in the Crane Arts Building at 1400 North American Street.
