ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS)- Officials have announced that a Connecticut man won $2.6 million while playing the penny slots in Atlantic City.

The Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa announced Thursday that a My Borgata cardholder won $2,647,821.49 while playing on a penny “Wizard of Oz Emerald City” slot machine for less than a minute.

Officials say the winner, who has asked to remain anonymous, saw the slot machine after leaving a daily Borgata poker tournament and figured he give them a shot.

Officials say the Connecticut native, who has come to the Borgata every month for the past two years, won on his first spin with a maximum bet of $4.

“It’s always a thrill to see one of our loyal Borgata customers win a life-changing jackpot,” said Tim Burke, Vice President of Slot Operations, “I can’t think of a more lucrative 60-second investment!”
