UPDATE: Delaware County Pediatrician Fired Shots At Vehicle With Child Inside

MIDDLETOWN Twp., Pa., (CBS) – Pennsylvania State Police say a 41-year-old pediatrician fired several shots at another woman inside of a vehicle while a child was in the front passenger seat in Delaware County on Monday night.

Authorities say the incident happened at about 6:49 p.m. in Middletown Township during a custody exchange between former companions.

According to State Police, 41-year-old woman Lauren Patricia Daly, of Middletown Township, allegedly fired several shots at the 49-year-old victim, of Wynnewood, through her front windshield while an 11-year-old boy was in the vehicle as a front seat passenger. Authorities say a 9-year-old female was standing outside of the vehicle.

The victim drove herself to Riddle Memorial Hospital. She was later transferred to Crozier Chester Medical Center. There is no word on her condition.

Daly, who allegedly works at Nemours/Alfred I. Dupont Hospital for Children, has been charged with Criminal Attempt Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Possessing Instruments of Crime. She is being held on $2 million bail.
