Pot-Legalization Group Relocates Outside US Courthouse After 2 Arrests

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Demonstrators swarmed the federal courthouse in Philadelphia this afternoon in an act of solidarity for two activists who were arrested last week during a marijuana protest in front of the Liberty Bell.

About two dozen protesters raised signs and repeated chants this afternoon, calling for the release of Adam Kokesh and NA Poe, who were arrested at the marijuana protest and are also being charged with felony assault on a federal officer.

Kevin Clough, executive director of Philly NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws), says  even though this was just a probable-cause hearing for Kokesh and a detention hearing for Poe, he feels good about their progress.

"I think just being here and showing support and making sure that people know what's going on in front of this courthouse today is a victory in itself," he tells KYW Newsradio.

Poe was released on bail.

Kokesh was being held in jail for refusing to reveal a home address.
