Name: Raymond Boyd

Do you have any prior experience in Radio?

For the past three years I have been a member of WHIP Radio at Temple University. Our station was amongst the best in the country and was featured on iHeart Radio. In my time I served as an on-air personality as well as Sports Director. I hosted three sports programs while on WHIP and managed a team of 20 on-airs. I also oversaw three sports shows, developed two new sports shows and directed all live broadcast of Temple football and basketball. I also handled the social media aspects of our sports department as well.

What aspects of Radio are you most interested in?

My greatest area of interest is in being an on-air personality. I have experience working behind the scenes as well but I believe my personality and knowledge make me an ideal host for sports talk radio.

What are you looking to gain by being in this contest?

I am looking to gain some vital hands on experience at a station that defined sports talk radio in Philadelphia. Growing up listening to WIP helped to mold my love for sports and having the opportunity to be a part of the WIP family would be an honor for me.

If selected to be the winner, why do you think that you would be a good fit with SportsRadio 94 WIP?

I think my greatest asset to WIP would be my fresh approach to sports talk radio. I have a ton of opinions and ideas for how to revolutionize radio for the 21st Century audience. I think I bring a vast amount of Philadelphia sports knowledge to the table as well. I have grown up following these teams and going to Temple University has given me the opportunity to cover these teams as did my internship at Comcast Sportsnet. I honestly believe that radio is in a vital transitional period and I think I can be an asset to that period.

Name: Anastazja Duda

Do you have any prior experience in Radio?

No, I have no prior experience in Radio.

What aspects of Radio are you most interested in?

I am interested in becoming an on air personality as well as the behind the scenes work such as production.

What are you looking to gain by being in this contest?

I am looking to gain knowledge and experience and the chance to meet some very inspiring professionals.

If selected to be the winner, why do you think that you would be a good fit with SportsRadio 94 WIP?

I think it's important for women to be a part of the sports world which is set by men. I think Rhea Hughes is so well informed and her wit and her courage are qualities that I aspire to have. I think I would be a good fit with SportsRadio 94 WIP because like the on-air personalities, I am a hard worker and I understand what I want out of life. I love being a part of a team and sharing accomplishments with others.

What is your favorite Philadelphia Sports Team?

My favorite Philadelphia sports team is the Philadelphia Flyers.

Who is your favorite WIP host?

I can't pick just one!

Who is your All-Time favorite Philadelphia athlete?

My brother is my All-time favorite Philadelphia athlete. Also, Claude Giroux isn't that bad either.

Name: Justin Franiak

Do you have any prior experience in Radio?

I have been the Co-Host of "The Staten Island Joe and Franiak Show" at Wilkes University for four years. I have done play-by-play for Wilkes Men's Basketball and Wrestling. I have also hosted a hair metal show and a weekly "whatever I want to play" show.

What aspects of Radio are you most interested in?

Keeping radio localized and fun. Relating to the listeners and bringing them the best entertainment and laughter one can possibly provide. Also rocking out while no one is watching.

What are you looking to gain by being in this contest?

Kick starting my dream of being an On- Air talent and eventually have a late night talk show.

If selected to be the winner, why do you think that you would be a good fit with SportsRadio 94 WIP?

I'm very witty and quick with a joke. I love sports, especially the funny side. I believe I have the unique talent of connecting with people over the airwaves.

Iggles

Who is your favorite WIP host?

Angelo. I'm also big on Joe Conklin and Reuben Frank when they are on.

Who is your All-Time favorite Philadelphia athlete?

Jon Runyan and Joe Blanton…Us big guys have to stick together

Name: Malissa Grimsley

Do you have any prior experience in Radio?

I worked with a promotions team for B101 while I was in college. Additionally, I volunteered my time to gain on air experience with Merrill Reese's station, WBCB 1490 AM. I am also a former television reporter.

What aspects of Radio are you most interested in?

It is an excellent way for correspondents to deliver information to the public and connect with local listeners.

What are you looking to gain by being in this contest?

I am looking to gain a once in a lifetime experience with the WIP team, in my favorite city!

If selected to be the winner, why do you think that you would be a good fit with SportsRadio 94 WIP?

I have media experience which includes news feature coverage of Eagles Training Camp, the Phillies Caravan, and the 2008 World Series Parade. I am a huge Philadelphia sports fan, with a strong work ethic and high energy level!

What is your favorite Philadelphia Sports Team?

Are you asking me to choose between the Phillies and Eagles? That's like asking a parent, "Who's the favorite child?"

Do you have any prior experience in Radio?

I took a Sports Broadcasting class last semester (Spring 2013) at JMU in which I created press releases, produced audio reports, conducted interviews, attended live events, participated in post-game press conferences, and learned about sport statistics.

What aspects of Radio are you most interested in?

I am most interested in the marketing and promotion side of sports radio.

What are you looking to gain by being in this contest?

I am hoping to gain a summer internship and valuable experience learning about the broadcasting industry.

I think I would be a good fit with SportsRadio 94 WIP because I am a hard worker and an avid sports fan that knows and loves the Philadelphia area.

Name: Richard J. Konowal Jr.

Do you have any prior experience in Radio?

Yes, I have a couple of years of experience in Radio. I spent a year doing my own radio show at Montgomery County Community College (Montco) Radio. And I am still doing my show on WRFT Temple Ambler Radio.

What aspects of Radio are you most interested in?

I like mostly every aspect of Radio from on-air broadcasting to behind the scenes production. I also like any kind of genre of Radio including music and sports talk.

What are you looking to gain by being in this contest?

I would like to gain as much knowledge as I can with the street team activities and assignments. If I win the job or not, I would hope it benefits me in my career goals as a Media Studies and Production student.

Based on listening to WIP for several years, I feel I have a strong understanding of the Philly Sports scene including the views and opinions of current radio personalities. I can contribute to WIP's success by working there and blending my talents to any kind of work force team.

Name: Alyssa Marsdale

Do you have any prior experience in Radio?

Yes, I was a radio DJ for WBZC-FM as an on air host and I have also worked under my father for his disc jockey business. I also did worked amongst the broadcasting department for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

What aspects of Radio are you most interested in?

I really enjoy the social aspect of radio. What I mean by that, is I enjoy communicating to a broad audience and being on the "mic." I enjoy delivering information to my listeners while fulfilling my passion as an on-air talent.

What are you looking to gain by being in this contest?

I'm looking to not only broaden my experience in the field of broadcasting, but to absorb as much as I can. I want to gain the experience though that ties in with the learning.

If selected to be the winner, why do you think that you would be a good fit with SportsRadio 94 WIP?

Not only do I have the drive, but I have the motivation and determination. While I can work independently, I really enjoy working with others as a team. I have a unique and distinct personality and believe I have a lot to offer not only to 94 WIP, but do the greater Philadelphia area as well.

Do you have any prior experience in Radio?

No, I don't have experience in Radio yet, but I am anxious to learn!

What aspects of Radio are you most interested in?

Since I have no experience in radio, I am not sure which aspects would interest me the most, but I really look forward to feeling it out and finding my niche

What are you looking to gain by being in this contest?

I would love to just gain the experience of even participating in this contest, but my ultimate goal would be to get a full time job in the industry

I think I would be a great fit for the WIP team because I have an outgoing personality, I enjoy talking sports, especially footballand the Eagles and I would love getting back into the
communications field.

Name: Pat White

Do you have any prior experience in Radio?

For the past two years I have been a member of ComRadio at Penn State University. I was a co-host on a hockey talk show called The Sin Bin, talking all levels of hockey from NHL to NCAA and Canadian Junior hockey. I also did play-by-plays for Penn State hockey and lacrosse games

What aspects of Radio are you most interested in?

Being a direct connection to the fans is something very intriguing to me. I like to converse with people, especially about sports. Hearing the relationships the hosts have with members of the organizations and the ability to disseminate information is very interesting to me.

What are you looking to gain by being in this contest?

I want work with the sports radio station I have listened to for years and hone my skills with the most connected station in the city. I want to connect with the hosts and the fans of Philadelphia through my knowledge of sports and my personality.

If selected to be the winner, why do you think that you would be a good fit with SportsRadio 94 WIP?

Sports isn't just a hobby for me, it is who I am. My love for sports coupled with my outgoing personality makes me fun and enjoyable to work with. I bring unmatched passion to the job and am willing to do any task in order to work my way up the ranks.

Who is your favorite WIP host?

Joe Conklin, because he can be everyone at the same time. But honestly, I would have to say Angelo and the entire Morning Show.

Who is your All-Time favorite Philadelphia athlete?

Jeremy Roenick, because of his mix of talent and personality. On Fan Appreciation Day, he signed a puck and threw it over the glass. When the guy next to me picked it up, he came over and told him to give it to me. His generosity and appreciation for Philly fans made him special.
