Crews Work To Repair Overnight Water Main Break In Fishtown

By Al Novack

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia Water Department repair crews quickly capped an eight-inch water main break in Fishtown early Sunday morning.

The gushing break occurred just outside a local tavern in the 100 block of East Girard Avenue.

The business was quickly evacuated because of flooding.

Officials say approximately eight other residential properties were without water and three sustained some water damage.

While the gushing water main was quickly capped, repairs and clean-up are now underway.
