Eagles Land Only One Player In CBS Writer's Top 100 NFL Player List

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Every year, Pete Prisco of CBS Sports puts together his list of the top 100 players in football. The list includes all positions, and is, as you'd guess, quarterback heavy at the top.

This year's list was released today, and there's not a lot of midnight green on it.

Guard Evan Mathis is the only Eagles player on the list, coming in at #47. "The Eagles line was horrible for most of 2012, but Mathis was as good as any left guard in the league. He is tough and he can move," Prisco writes.

The Eagles don't have a ton of candidates on the list, but it's interesting to see LeSean McCoy not on the list after such a poor 2012. Minnesota's Adrian Peterson,  Buffalo's CJ Spiller, Washington's Alfred Morris, Kansas City's Jamaal Charles, and Baltimore's Ray Rice are the running backs who made the list.

You'd have to assume Jason Peters would be on the list if he wasn't coming back from injury.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers tops this year's list.
