Authorities Announce Major Atlantic City Drug Distribution Crackdown
By David Madden
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- Officials in Atlantic City, NJ say they have brought down a major drug ring, charging 28 members of the "800 Blok" gang.
All but four of the suspects are now in custody.
Officials say this gang and the "Dirty Blok" gang account for most of the violence in the shore town, attributable to dealing in cocaine and heroin.

New Jersey attorney general Jeffrey Chiesa says the eight-month, multi-agency probe resulted in more than just drug charges being filed.
"(We) charged one individual that was involved in a homicide that was committed last July, and we also developed intelligence that allowed us to intercede on a homicide that we thought was about to be committed," he told KYW Newsradio today.
And Chiesa says the push won't stop there.
Gang leaders face ten to 20 years in prison if convicted, which he hopes will serve as a deterrent to others.
Otherwise, he says, the group that brought about these arrests will go after other gangs next.
