Ice Cream Shop Shooting Victim ID'd

By Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Police have identified the victim in the deadly shooting and robbery inside a South Street ice cream shop early Saturday morning (see related story).

Police responded to a call of a burglary in progress and shots fired at the Haagen Dazs store in the 200 block of South Street at about 3:30 a.m. Inside, officers found 36-year-old Tom Watson dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

Watson lived in an apartment above the ice cream shop. He worked as a DJ at local bars and restaurants and he was unloading his gear after a gig when he was attacked.

Homicide detectives are looking for two men, and don't have much to work with in terms of a description. They are reviewing surveillance video for leads.

Anybody with information is asked to call homicide detectives at 215-686-3280 or 9-1-1.
