2 Suspects Charged In Deadly Darby Borough Robbery Following Basketball Game

DARBY, Pa. (CBS) – Police say two suspects are in custody, charged with a deadly robbery following a basketball game in Darby Borough (see previous story).

Jason Jerome Roberts, known as "Butters," a 20-year-old from Chester, and Jermaine D. Roberts, an 18-year-old also of Chester, were arrested and charged with the crime, which happened on Sunday night around 10 p.m.

Police say an 18-year-old man later identified as Brian Christopher Brunston was walking home with some friends when a gunman walked up to the group and tried to rob them.

The group fled in different directions, but Brunston was shot at least once in the left side and later died at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Surveillance video from the scene helped police to identify the suspects, who are now charged with the crime.

Jason Jerome Roberts is charged with murder of the first, second and third degree, as well as robbery and related charges. Jermaine Roberts faces charges of murder of the second and third degree, robbery and criminal conspiracy.
