1 Injured After Northeast Extension Crash In Montgomery County

SALFORD Twp., Pa., (CBS) – One person was seriously injured after a two-vehicle accident on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Tuesday night.

The accident happened at about at 8:11 p.m. near the Ridge Road overpass in Salford Township.

During the accident, a truck traveling southbound on the Northeast Extension overturned down an embankment.

Chopper 3 HD was over the scene as multiple crews responded.

Officials say one person was medevaced to the hospital.  There is no word on additional injuries.

Officials say the right lane is closed as they remove the vehicles from the scene.  Drivers should expect delays in the area.
