Phillies Place Roy Halladay On 15-Day Disabled List

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies have placed right handed pitcher Roy Halladay on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder. They have recalled left-handed pitcher Joe Savery to take Halladay's place on the roster.

Halladay revealed after Sunday's loss to the Marlins that he's been feeling pain in his shoulder for about two weeks. He said he believed it was just normal soreness, but it has gotten worse with time.

Halladay has allowed 17 earned runs in his last two starts, pitching a total of just six innings. He's allowed four home runs and walked six in the two games, against the Indians and the Marlins, both losses.

Savery has appeared in just one game for the Phillies this year, striking out one in one inning. He appeared in 19 games for the team last season, with an ERA of 5.40.
