Police: Suspects Set House On Fire With 3 People Inside

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say they have arrested two men for setting a home on fire while three people were inside.

The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. on the 2000 block of Monmouth Street.

According to police, 21-year-old Kahree Brown and 21-year-old Clinton Sumter were seen by officers running from the steps of a home that had been set on fire.

Authorities report both suspects attempted to run away from police, but were apprehended near the scene.

Officials report Brown had a jug with gasoline in it and Sumter had two cigarette lighters.

Police say three people were in the home at the time the it was set on fire, but no one was injured.

Brown and Sumter have been charged with arson, causing/risking a catastrophe, aggravated assault and related offenses.
