Gardening Questions Answered At Haverford Arboretum

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Which trees can you plant in a damp spot? Are you supposed to worry when needles turn brown? What does 'part-sun' really mean? How come some buds are so fuzzy? Why doesn't yours bloom like your neighbors'? Will your tree ever recover from Hurricane Sandy?

Do you have other questions? Well, good! On Sunday, May 5, bring your gardening questions (and maybe even a branch from that tree you're wondering about) to the Haverford Arboretum (arbor@haverford.edu) where you can walk and talk with tree expert Tom Shotzbarger while touring the Arboretum in its springtime glory.

This rain or shine tour is free, so, just gather your gardening questions, get your walking shoes on and be at the Whitehead Campus Center at Haverford College at 370 Lancaster Avenue, Haverford, PA, on Sunday by 1:30. If you should miss it, remember you can always visit the Haverford Arboretum whenever you have time with help from their virtual tours of the Arboretum and self-guided tours of their Pinetum.
