Teen Killed After Being Struck By Car Along Route 309 In Hatfield Township

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - One teen is dead after being struck by a car while walking with friends along a highway in Montgomery County.

The deadly accident happened on Friday night at 11:34 p.m. Hatfield Township Police responded to an accident scene where a pedestrian had been struck at Route 309 and Sterling drive. Officer's said the victim, Dennis Kee, age 15, of Hatfield PA, and was found near shoulder of the roadway.

Kee was taken to Lehigh Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:35 a.m. Saturday. The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries and was ruled accidental.

Police officials said during the preliminary investigation it was discovered Dennis Kee was walking with four young friends on Route 309 prior to the crash.

Investigators located the vehicle and driver, which struck Dennis Kee, in a nearby parking lot. The striking car is a 2007 Toyota Corolla sedan which did sustain passenger side damage. The driver was identified and interviewed regarding the accident. Police have not released the driver's name.
