Man Killed In Police-Involved Shooting In Pleasantville, N.J.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (CBS) – Officials say a man was shot and killed by police following a confrontation in Atlantic County on Monday.

The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. at the 800 block of West Park Avenue in Pleasantville.

Chopper 3 HD was over the scene.

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, Pleasantville Police responded to the report of an armed man allegedly making threats of using violence outside of a residence.

Authorities say shortly after arrival, Alexis Perez, 19, who lived at the home, was shot multiple times by responding officers.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three police officers were involved in the shooting.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit.

The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General has also been notified.

No police officers were injured during the incident.
