Children Dress As Their Favorite Characters At Annual Storybook Ball

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Princesses, knights, dragons and Buzz Light Year lined the halls of the Please Touch Museum for its annual storybook ball.

At the 5th Annual Storybook Ball, kids dressed up as their favorite storybook character.

Families got to go on carousel rides, enjoy theatrical performances, listen to stories and boogie down at a dance party.

Those I talked to jumped at the chance to talk about what they liked most about their enchanted evening.

"I liked seeing the characters, I like playing in the museum, meeting the characters, the horse drawn carriage," said one party go-er.

Stephanie Lim Capello is Vice President of Development at the museum.

She says the funds raised from this event go to a good cause.

"So we actually work in the community and here in the museum on early literacy programming to have that grown up and that child learn how to read together," said Lim Capello.
