New Jersey Transit Gives Riders New Ways To Get Information About Their Route

By David Madden

CAMDEN N.J. (CBS) -- New Jersey Transit has unveiled its upgraded online service for bus riders needing information about their route.

Those "My Bus" signs at stops throughout the state won't change, but the information you'll get from the service will.

NJT Executive Director Jim Weinstein says instead of just a raw bus schedule this GPS linked program will now actually tell you how long it is gonna be before that bus gets there within a 30 minute window.

It'll work on your PC or laptop, your favorite mobile device and you can even get a text message.

It works like the old "My Bus" system, which means in most cases you'll need the number of your stop.

It is listed on those signs.

The upgrade covers 46 South Jersey bus routes, including those going into Philadelphia and has plans to take it statewide by the end of the year.
