Philadelphia Man Charged After Allegedly Stabbing 7-Month-Old Son In Head

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Police say a 20-year-old man has been arrested after stabbing his 7-month-old son.

The incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. Friday on the 6200 block of Chew Avenue in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia,

According to police, the mother and father of the infant were engaged in a physical and verbal fight.

Police say the baby was stabbed in the head during the fight by 20-year-old Samuel Jones.

Authorities report the victim was taken to Einstein Hospital by the parents and then to St. Christopher's Hospital by medics, where he is listed in critical condition.

Jones has been charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare, recklessly endangering another , simple assault and related offenses.
